Caral : Conclusions
Very Interesting Places in Peru
The evidence found in Caral leads us to the following conclusions:
- The population of Supe had a social organization with stratified ranks, derived from the place of the workers in the productive process, and an unequal distribution of the socially produced wealth.
- The farming and fishing communities in the territory between the Santa and Chancay valleys in the north-central area had a State government formed for the first time in the central Andean region.
- The division of labor meant that significant progress could be made in scientific, technological, and artistic knowledge.
- The people's lifestyle centered around urban settlements. Twenty-eight radiocarbon dating tests have confirmed that Caral is the oldest city in Peru and the Americas.
- Its historic, cultural, and economic values will enable Caral to become a first-class national and international tourist destination, which will improve living conditions locally and in the country in general.
